Access to PMBOK® Guide Translations Now Available
A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Fourth Edition will soon be available in a total of eleven languages. In order to create accurate and regionally relevant translations, PMI works with local volunteers. These translation teams verify the accuracy of the submitted work. To maintain the integrity of our translations, PMI has agreed to provide only chapters of the PMBOK® Guide that have been verified. At this time chapters 1-3 and the glossary have been verified for all languages and five translations have been completed. The remaining translations are in various stages of completion. As a chapter is verified by the teams we will update the file so members have access to the most recent verified content. Available as part of the member benefit package, members can access any of the translations by signing into PMI.org then navigating to the Resources tab. Digital editions are located on the Library of Global Standards page. |

| Decision-Making
During Execution of Megaprojects - We Need Your Input Your participation is requested in this study about investigating the impact of the project managers decision-making during the execution of megaprojects. Though primary study focus is on the oil/gas industry, contributions from megaproject experiences in other industry sectors are very welcome. The study is being done in collaboration with a European academic institution (ESC Lille). Simplistically, this study assumes megaprojects as projects with total cost of about $1 billion or more. The study outcome will contribute to an improved understanding of the framework that should support decision-making on these big projects, such that stronger focus can be maintained on realising the strategic objectives for which the projects were initiated. I hope this may interest you as a project management professional. Your participation will be an important contribution to advancing the profession. Confidentiality of respondees will be upheld - all responses are received as completely anonymous. E-mails and names inadvertently mentioned in course of your responses to this survey will not be mentioned in the use of data gathered. The
survey can be assessed here. |
